The officer and 5 of his men bring Jack into the large building. Unsurprisingly, the building looks as deserted as the rest of the town. But not unclean, as people have clearly lived and worked here just a few days or maybe even hours ago by the looks of it. Jack recognizes it to be a school building, by the classrooms they pass. They walk a long ways- the guards simply keeping to themselves as they pass other guards who stand in the hallways. The officer and his men bring jack up several flights of stairs and past various boring classrooms until they end up at a part of the building with recently built in metal bars, sealing off part of the hallway to act as a makeshift prison. "You will remain here until my superior arrives in the morning. Don't make any attempts to escape, as there are innumerable guards around this checkpoint. Play it safe and you might get out of here with only a warning and a single night in Jail, rather than being put to work in the mines, or worse."
One of the guards laughs a little and utters; "There's nothing worse than the mines, man. I've been there." He turns and follows two others down the hall and up the final stairs to the roof.
"Unlock the gate." the officer says and one of the men standing guard shoves a key into the lock and turns it, eventually opening the gate. Jack is pushed in roughly and directed to a wooden door. They open the door and inside is another classroom. This one is small, and only four tables and no chairs are in them. A mattress has been rolled out in the corners and a woman in a ragged and torn maids outfit is sleeping on it. Jack realizes it's Ayame, who has indeed been arrested and brought to this zone. Why? He does not yet know.
"Stay here. Don't cause trouble." the officer says and closes the door, locking it behind himself with a hastily built in locking mechanism.
So Jack is left there for what seems to be an hour or at least half an hour, together with the sleeping Ayame. Suddenly, a few thumping sounds are heard from outside, followed by the sudden sound of smashing glass. Ayame jumps out from her slumber and cries out in surprise, seeing the man with her in the dark room. She scrambles over to one of the desks and keeps her hands on it, ready to attempt to throw or push it at a moments notice. The shattering of glass is soon followed by the muffled yells of the guards as they shout commands, footsteps echoing down the laminated hallway. The commotion grows louder and Ayame seems to be stuck in a state of panic before realizing who is infront of her. As she finally recognizes the man she rights herself up with a blush of emberassment. "Its you." she says. A keen oberservation indeed. "Where are the others? Are your friends with you? Where is Ji-" She's suddenly cut off by something heavy slamming against the door. The two of them watch the door, hearing a clicking growl followed by an aggrivated screetch as whatever is behind the door suddenly bashes against it again- and again- and again. The fourth time, the door cracks and the lock breaks loose, only for moments later a sword to be shoved through the fragile wood. Blood dribbles down the end and someone outside yells. "Hey is anyone in there? Hey!". The man outside suddenly cries out in terror. His cry ending in a gurgle as he is persumably slain by whatever lurks outside once again. The door then opens slowly, the guard leaned against it, though he soon after falls onto the ground. His chest is slashed open, the padding and armor he wore torn off and bite marks are on his neck, though there doesn't seem to be anything outside. Ayame carefully peeks out of the room, seeing a few dead guards at the end of the gate, which still seems to be locked.
