    https://kitsunetsukikorp.rpg-board.net/t133-recudor-s-markets-shopping-errands-day-6#2841

Sartana gets up from his seat and leaves to look for some clothes and weaponry. Clearly not interested in the rest of the group he soon merges with the masses of people in the markets and disappears.

Airgetlam watched as the man left, and couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

"I thought he'd be a bit more friendly, guess not." She says and looks to the other two present.

"So any ideas where to start? I was thinking maybe we should head to the north district since that's where the "contractor" seems to base himself, and maybe there's somewhere up there like an inn that acts as a hub for information. I'm not really convinced at all that his description of the kidnapper fitting Sharpe's is a coincidence, but for all we know maybe it actually is."

Frazil looks sidelong at Airgetlam. Contractor? ... I'm confused. Either I've missed something, or you're being too vague. Regardless, you said "job" and I don't remember having a job. Honestly I don't remember much other than shopping and restaurants for the past couple days. Well, except for the house getting attacked. Speaking of which, does no-one think that repairing the windows should be a priority? She then mutters to herself Honestly, I think I might have been better off sleeping at the harbor.

Anyway, I heard some talk about bounties, jobs, mercenary work... where exactly do you guys get the work?

Jian looks up, thinking for a moment. Where would be a good place to start this investigation... Or even more, how to even proceed in general. If the girl mentioned really is Clarent, and the person that "kidnapped" her also indeed is Sharpe... Why even look for more information? Better would be for them to come up with a plan on how to deal with the contractor itself.
He then snaps out of it, turning to Frazil.

"Oh, I apolagize. We have accepted a job from the boards that are located at the militia tents. We can take you there shortly, or you could help us out too. Basically... we have accepted a job by someone claiming that someone kidnapped his... daughter? I think it was his daughter yeah. And from what he described, it is very, no, extremely likely that Clarent is the one he's meaning. And to top this off, Sharpe could be the "kidnapper", the description fits once again very well to him."

Jian runs his hand through his hair for a moment, readjusting the somewhat short ponytail he has, then looking into the distance.

"I feel like we don't really know what we're looking for though. Information? Something that gives our suspicion even more confirmation? I think we should actually either meet up with that contractor to, hmmm... Maybe not. Too risky."
Looking back at the others, he has a somewhat grim look on his face, which pretty much came out of nowhere.

"... But maybe yes. You see, why search for more clues if there is one way to get clarification. We could try and bring this contractor to the location we "found" Clarent in. Close to the party house, it'd be a good spot to arrange this, preferably when nighttime hits again, but not inside of the higher-class districts, not sure if he'd get in there. Anyhow. Sharpe and Clarent could be on the scene, it looking like he does hold her hostage. We could then say that we persuaded Sharpe into cutting a deal with him, the contractor, and that it only will go through if he appears in person. We wait for the reaction of the man, see if she really is the one in question. Once we have him in that position, RD, or someone else with decent combat capability besides us, is getting ready in a place where he won't get spotted, but can jump in if stuff gets... ugly. It'd be the best place to capture the contractor to lure out information on what's going on. The reason why I want someone to jump in is, because he might have someone also shadowing him for his safety. It's what--", nearly just mentioning his own refugee status, and that he's being hunted, he interrupted himself, clearning his throat.

"It's... what I would suggest.", he then somewhat mutters out. Taking a moment to think about this, he's surprised he even came up with a plan like this. It's not like him to have any sort of tactical sense. Using this oppurtunity as a base of confidence, he then reflects it on the outside, his posture and look giving away that he really means to pull this off.
"Any objections or suggestions?", he then says, smiling and tilting his head at the others.

Airgetlam looks a way for a moment, thinking. She looks back up to them both, and then nods to Frazil.

"Yeah, sorry for coming out of the blue with that." She says, then then turns to Jian, somewhat surprised at his plans.

"That... actually is something I'd be fine going with. Looking back we could definitely do with using someone on the inside without actively organizing a raid."

She looks back at Frazil, shifting her mouth to one side.

"I don't want it to feel like we're forcing it on you, but what's your take?"

Frazil rolls her eyes. You all seem to really like using each other as bait, and subtlety seems to be an issue. I'd suggest that first, maybe meet with the client, and get a picture or at least a description of them. Second, we ask Clarent if there's someone who might think she was kidnapped, followed by running the picture by her. This could just be a big misunderstanding, or worse, someone out to get her. You've been "protecting" her for a while now, and she seems to draw trouble.

Jian remains silent for a moment. Sighing once, scratching the back of his head.

"We already got quite detailed descriptions, as I mentioned... They fit Clarent and Sharpe more than just a bit. Hardly can be a coincidence. We talked to the client before, his whole appearance, his attitude, it was more than just suspicious. I might not be a combat specialist, but I sure know when someone is hiding something.

I wasn't going to just set this up without asking for opinions first, I am not the kind to just pull this off without consent... If Clarent doesn't wanna do this, we wont.", he sighs again, ruffling his own hair in thought.
"It doesn't matter if she draws trouble. I draw trouble too. You make it sound as if we should ditch her for the sake of an easier time, which I definitely won't.", he then adds boldly, his tone even a bit angered before he calms himself down within a few seconds.

Airgetlam holds up a single finger.

    "Had a brown-haired, about-eighteen girl with him."

She then holds up her middle finger in addition to her index.

"Man looked older, guy said he was middle-aged or something."

She holds up her ring finger.

"He said he had a gun, didn't specify what. If you haven't noticed, guns aren't exactly too commonplace as an armament around here. These were the things he said specifically. Yes, we would need to talk to everyone else, and we're not throwing people under the wagon. It's just an idea."

Frazil sighs at Jian's attitude. I wasn't saying ditch her. I was saying the client might be more of said trouble. As for descriptions, yes, her, and Sharpe it seems were described. I want a description or picture of the client that's put out the bounty. See if Clarent knows them?

Jian takes a moment to think about the whole ordeal a bit more indepth. Before he can give a real answer the waiter comes by asking if they have plans on ordering any meals or drinks, as they are taking up valuable seats for other customers.

As Airgetlam and Jian let themselves get lost in their thoughts Frazil becomes seemingly more frustrated with the two and their lack of help. She decides to take matters into her own hands trying to make the choice between checking out this bounty board everyone seems to have been talking about lately, or trying to catch up with RD, or to simply go back home with the rest of the group.

Frazil looks at the waiter, and back at the two at the table who seem to be so lost in thought as to have not even heard him. When she returns her gaze to the waiter, she responds I was just leaving. Not really sure about these two. waving her hand in the general direction of the others.

She collects her things, and seeing as how she has no clue where RD went, and going back to the house seems rather pointless, she thinks to herself I think I see now why the group splits up so much. Clearly there's are "action" people, and "reaction" people. I should have gone with RD... Bounty board it is. Before heading toward said board.

The waiter excuses himself as Frazil gets up and makes her way over to the Militia Tent. Her getting up and walking off pulls the others out of whatever thoughtful state they were in, after which they promptly make after her.

Frazil, and by extension the others, enter the Militia Tent. It's pretty empty with most of the mercenaries having left for their jobs this late in the afternoon. Somewhat surprising is the lack of noble swordsman causing a ruckus which has by now become a common occurrence. Any day but today at least. A stool is in the corner of the tent next to the entrance on which a guard of the city rests. He gives them all a nod as they enter. Judging by his outfit and general demeanor as well as the book he seems to be reading- The mysteries of eastern magicians- he seems to be a mage as well. It's not unheard of for the guard to instate special magic users who often serve the role of investigators when it comes to affairs using protraction and judging by the way Frazil senses a sort of seeking aura emanating from the man as well as the faint taste of rust in the air suggests he is doing just that while he waits in the tent. Given what she heard of yesterday's heist it is likely that the man was left here incase the perpetrator returns for whatever reason.

Alas the man simply returns to reading his book, not concerned with the usual mercenaries that enter the tent.

Across the room is a very basic counter with an attendant, donning the Traders Guild's Militia insignia, waiting patiently for any bounties to be registered. The woman is dark skinned with sharp angular features but slim proportions and short hair. Airgetlam recognizes the attendant from a few days ago when she broke up a fight between her and the infamous swordsman. The woman tries to flash a welcoming smile but try as she might she finds it difficult not to appear overly professional or at the very least formal.

Lastly next to the counter is a wide wooden board with plenty of notes, the actual bounties and missions listed.

With Frazil leaving the table in advance after the waiter came to the group sitting there, he is snapping out of it, been a while since he got so carried away about something. He looks at her distancing herself from the table, then also gets up, bowing to the waiter before leaning in towards Airgetlam, keeping the tone sort of quiet.
" I can tell that she's not approving... Yet, you see, I feel like it's the best option to get our case done. You recall when we met him right, the contractor I mean, he was behaving really odd after all. Plus... he had someone else with him, his "brother", so he said. That's the reason why I assume he wouldn't be going alone. Would you be up for bringing this suggestion towards Sharpe and the others once we get back? I mean, I can see why Frazil is reacting the way she is, really, but for some reason something tells me that I -have- to get to the bottom of this. "
He clears his throat, then adjusting his attire for a moment before following up with Frazil, beckoning Air to follow, his distance yet enough so she'd be able to talk to him in a quiet tone.

Air gets up and follows Jian, nodding to him as they go to the militia tent. Upon arriving at the tent she looks around, surprised to find the annoying swordsman is gone, for once maybe he took some advice and played it smart.

"Yeah, I will also," She says after the thought, "The sooner we figure out where that leads the better."

Frazil scans the board, then approaches the attendant. Excuse me. I'm new to this whole mercenary thing. I'm pretty sure I know what a bounty means, but can you explain what "private" and "free" missions are? Also, how is difficulty determined, and why isn't it separated into "investigative difficulty", and "danger"? Reading the list, it seems that some are clearly going to be more physically dangerous.

    The attendant greets Frazil with a casual nod and somewhat of a smile. After hearing her out she begins to explain;

"Yes, they can be. I unfortunately don't know what decides the difficulty rating, it's not part of my job. As for the differences; The private missions require you to get in contact with the person who listed it. The bounties are straight from the city whereas the Free Missions come from the Guild. Truth be told the militia is very new in the business. Only been around for a year or two so they are still getting things straightened out." she chuckles a little as she mentions the last bit but is quick to return to a more professional demeanor. "If you have any suggestions or complaints I'll be glad to forward them to the Guild. Otherwise I can process a ticket for you if you see anything you like?"

Airgetlam slides on over to Frazil and leans in close.

"the difficulty you can just infer to be the risk of death that each one carries."

She looks up at the attendant and then as the woman turns away, back to Frazil.

"You learn something new every day. We'll stick around for a bit longer."

Frazil nods in Airgetlams direction, while replying to the attendant, Yeah, go ahead and forward that suggestion. The one about separating investigative difficulty with physical danger. In the mean time, sign me up for 196 and give me whatever orientation on it, if there is any... and I guess, in general, are the bounties a dead or alive kind of situation, or is one preferred over the other?

The attendant gestures welcomingly to Frazil and pulls out a paper which she promptly puts a stamp on. She hands the flyer with the details to Frazil before answering: "The guild prefers alive but more often than not there is a lot of struggle that ends up... well badly. Regarding the bounty, It looks like the target in question, regarding our information, has been hiding out in Recudor. We don't have a lot of info on the target but rumor has it the person in question is a wetboy working for the league of assassins. If they even exist, anyway. There was a detective in town who would have been able to help you out. He had been gathering information on this particular individual for a while now... but... he was found dead in a Tavern not too long ago." she stops her explanation for a moment to write down an address Frazil is unfamiliar with. Airgetlam and Jian both recognize it to be in the northern district under the name Corwall D. Taylor. "This man is the Chief of the Guard in the northern district. He has been working closely with the detective and should be able to help you out with any information you might need."

With the attendant having given out the last of her information the group decides on the next course of action.

"Well, now that you seem to have your first mission accepted, you can either hit up the detective, for example, to get some info in or head back to the house to maybe plan ahead there. I personally would like to see Sharpe and Clarent to hear them out about about the plan I had. Maybe they have a better suggestion or whatnot"

Jian, sounding more kind than determined and confident now again, nods to both Air and Frazil once, taking a look around in the meantime. He's not aiming to accept any more missions for now, instead just being internally hellbent to set things in motion. Yet, he wouldn't want to leave them both behind without further notice or them deciding what they'd like to do.

Frazil takes the paper, and slides it into her sleeve. She looks toward Jian and Airgetlam and shrugs. Seems you guys have a plan and a meeting that needs to happen. You should head back to the house and talk to the others involved. I'm going to check this out really quickly, but should be back this evening if you want backup.

Frazil walks off, expecting that Jian and Airgetlam will do whatever craziness they have cooked up regardless of her thoughts on the matter. She stops a couple random people who don't look like they're in too much of a hurry, and asks where she might buy a map of the city, and (hopefully) outlying areas. Eventually someone points her in the direction of a merchant. She purchases the map and uses it to make her way to the address given.

Nodding to Frazil, Jian then decides to head back to the party house. She was right, he has the plan to meet up with Sharpe and Clarent to discuss everything he had in mind in terms of getting his plan into motion. He's somewhat eager to hear what they might think about it after all.

As she walks alongside Jian, she proceeds to strike up a short conversation or at least something she hopes will turn into a conversation.

"So say they go for it, and the guy is indeed what we suspect he is, are we going to knock him out? And if that's the case do you think he'll be fine escorted back or should i send him a sheep-filled bolt? I don't want this messed up, but I have pretty good aim so if that ends up how things go, we'll be fine." She walks a bit further and looks up to the sky for a moment, then looks straight at him.

"Honest opinion, do you really think he is with the local syndicate? Or do you really stand with being unsure? Asking that makes me wonder if i really is, then what position he holds, I would assume he's probably rank-and-file."
