Sartana enters the busy southern markets of the city. There are many people, many sights, and many smells, and the whole street is full of chatter. The people here are wearing a great variety of clothing and styles, anywhere from casual eastern-wear to the latest fashion straight from Global. In fact the sheer amount of easterners is astonishing. Towards the north there are rarely any of them around, but this city stays true to its title as a cultural hub.

As he makes his way through the crowd he comes by an empty Info booth. There are a few flyers to show which vendors are where. He decides to grab one before continuing on his way.

Sartana squinted at the flyer, searching for someone who would sell him breakfast. It wasn’t long before he found someone selling fruit. After trading the last of cash for a couple of apples, he sat on a bench, watching the people walk by and enjoying breakfast. “Hmm, guess I’m going to need to work a little for my next meal” he said around mouthfuls of apples.

    "Enjoying your meal?"

At first unsure it was directed at him, Santana looks around. Sure enough; the all too familiar soft voice came with an all too familiar face and the appropriate black Gothic dress. "I wonder, what brought you here? and... now that you're here... what will you do?" She giggles to herself, swaying her legs from side to side. "This city is full of secrets. But that's nothing new to you, is it? So many strings to pull, so many people to silence. At least it's all straight forward in War, isn't it?"

Not awaiting any answer she slides off the bench, too high for her to properly sit on, and stands before Sartana, once again staring at him through the blind-fold. "Where will you go now, I wonder?" she asks and gestures into the bustling streets and the market as if she were in a theater play.

“Oh, good morning young miss. I didn’t see you there, and yes thank you” Reaching into his beg, Sartana brought out the little black book from last night and offered it to her.  Still being careful not to make direct skin contact with its cover. “You forgot your diary with me last night. Don’t worry, I didn’t peek though it”
Standing up, his eyes traveled were she had gestured. Looking down the street, seeing the market fully animated. You could probably buy anything you want from here, as long as you had the right good to trade with.
Turning back to the girl, he addressed her “You’re too young to see war outside of the pages of a book. Trust me, its prettiest paper. Could you tell me your name? That would make talking to you a lot easier, especially if you plan on making a hobby out of sneaking up on me.

The girl grins back at Sartana as he finishes asking her name. An almost animistic grin, just like before with her eyes still obscured by the blindfold. "Straight to the point, with you. Quite good, quite good indeed." she says before finally stepping completely around him and sitting down back on the bench, this time on the other side of Sartana.

"I'm nobody, you could say. My name is not important." she pauses and leans against Sartana's arm, sighing out softly. "My name is Anna. Anna Tureosi." she says with a content smile on her face, as if saying her name out-loud like that provided her with pleasure.

Sartana had to turn himself to face her again before speaking “It’s nice to meet you Anna” He said, offering one of his hands to shake, before going on. “Do you mind if I ask you something? Are you a ghost?”

Anna cocks her head at the question, then suddenly breaking out into hearty child-like laughter.
After she recovers she leans back against the bench, swinging her legs freely. "Well, if you want to think of me as such. But no, I am quite alive, more so than ever, actually."

A bit of time passes, without her saying much more and she turns to him mentioning; "Everything you'll need to know is in that book of yours. I'll have my eyes on you." as she speaks her small shadow begins to writhe and move about, slowly covering her body in black. "Well... metaphorically speaking..." she says, suddenly laughing out again as the shadows wrap around her completely and sink below the bench, like water disciplined by gravity. Soon enough there isn't as much of a trace of the girl, leaving Sartana once more with more questions than answers. But at least he has some answers for now, and still that small black notebook.

Nobody around him seems to have noticed, the masses going about their business as usual.

Staring blankly at the spot his new acquaintance had just melted from, Sartana turned to the little black book in his hands. He still had his hands wrapped inside his sleeves, quickly flicking his hands free, he hesitantly touched the cover. After waiting a couple second, half expecting his face to melt off or his skin to crack and turn to dust. Letting out a little sigh of relief, Sartana filled open to the first page and started to read.

Sartana looks at the first page but finds it completely empty. Strange. He is about to flip to the next page when suddenly some text begins to write itself across the pages. Recudor: Southern District 8f0e2309378f96655169a0cfa510f7c1

The text doesn't make a whole lot of sense to him and seems to be written in some foreign language.

Out of curiosity he flips to the next page, which is once again empty. Though after a short while the same symbols appear to be writing themselves back on the paper. This process repeats on every page he tries without fail.

Confused by the strange text, Sartana go back on his feet. Pocketing the book, figuring he could solve the mystery later. Work, he needed to find work to eat and sleep without worrying about getting a dagger in the back. Taking out his flyer from earlier, he checked again, looking for anything of interested. Scanning names the services listed by them, he stopped only shortly on the name Anna Vara, it was too early for those sort of thoughts. Shaking his head he moved down until he found the Militia tents. Taking a second to figure out where they were, he pocketed the flyer and began to make his way to their tents.

Sartana arrives at the militia tent. To his surprise despite them having paid for three spots it seems to just be one big tent with plenty of people around and inside. As he gets closer to the place he can already notice a rather colourful display of people.

The scene is like straight out of a book. Two seriously tough looking big guys are standing, like a wall, shoulder by shoulder in-front of a young skinny swordsman. The swordsman is complaining and yelling and making a scene, and the two others simply stare at him with annoyed expressions, clearly waiting for the man to stop making a scene. Just by the looks of it Sartana can immediately tell that this is a daily routine as no one else seems to be bothered by this spectacle. There are a few people looking in to the tent, either waiting or checking out something, and on the side of the tent is a collection of three guards. The guards all look very standart. Two of them are wearing basic protective gear, swords, a stun-gun and simple helmets. The third is wearing a form of combat robe, easily distinguishing him as a mage.

From his experience Sartana can recall that mages were usually only employed by the guard as police-hounds, following the different magical scents in the air to find some perpetrator or criminal activity, so likely there has been some misuse of magic here lately.

He decides to take a look inside, nimbly moving past the two big guys to step inside the tent. It's pretty packed with all kinds of people. There are two small tables on the left, and a bounty board at the right. In the middle, far to the back, is a basic counter with two attendants going over paperwork and the various bounties.

Flipping though the bounties, Sartana grabbed a few most the few of the interesting ones. As he began making his way out of the tent, his eyes instinctively began crawling over every weapon and piece of armor in the tent. Seeing nothing that interested him, he didn’t bother stopping and walked right out of the tent. Back in the morning light, he looked at the bounties he collected, 196– Itzel Felix, and 194- “White Claw”. Sighing he put the papers away and Looking over, he could see that the swordsmen from earlier was still yelling at the guard. Folding his hands across his chest, Sartana turned to the guards and said “Are you offering a reward for anyone who can stop his barking?” He gestured mockingly at the swordsmen while he spoke.

The guard turns to Sartana chuckling. "Afraid not." he says with a scoff and shakes his head. "New here, huh? This guy always causes a racket. Always something with that one."

The guard doesn't seem particularly interested in holding a conversation, his demeanor and appearance seem more like he feels forced to reply due to be on duty.

Sartana turned and left. The day was early and lunch wasn’t going to be free. Looking again at the papers, he decided to go after the bear first. He’d seen a bear or two before and putting one down won’t be that hard. He began making his way to were the bear had last been seen

After a decent bit of walking, past the Inn and down the main road, Sartana finds himself at the south gate leading into the wilderness. It's one of those days where the breeze is decently cold but the sun shines warmly on his back. There is everything you'd think to see out in the field. Birds, little critters, and the rushing of a river nearby with plenty of forest and mountains to boot. There are a few paths, one leading to the forest and one leading across a small wooden bridge along the side of the city. From what he remembers on the note the bear was last sighted roaming the local forest, so a good place to start was to head straight ahead.

He does so for a good while until he is almost at the forest. The path splits into two ways around a large rock. On one side Sartana can see an old seemingly abandoned building, a good whiles into the forest, and on the other a broken down carriage just on top of a hill leading in to another part of the forest. Looking around either ways there are no immediate signs of bears or other animals passing through recently.
