Glayp'neir (Arc 1)

Dr. Atrium chuckles when Hitomi pops her head up and scares Clarent.

"That is Hitomi. She may look human, but she is really a fairy. She doesn't speak english or any other language but her own. As for your safety, I promise you are in good hands. You were taken by a man who was was taking other people in this town to do experiments on. His name was Marcus. My friends and I found where he was hiding and freed everyone that he took, you being one of them. As for when you can leave. I guess technically you can leave right now, though I would i would advise against it. Your body has been through a lot and I wish to make sure you are 100% well. Are you hungry Clarent?

Jack finishes his conversation as quickly as possible, aware of the time he is consuming.

"Unfortunately, my conversation did not yield any new information. She told me that central was blocked off because of quarantine. I know you know that because I just barely overheard Sharpe. Now, I'll admit, there is a lot that doesn't seem right with Ayame's disappearance, but we still have to consider what if Sharpe's hunch is wrong. What if there actually was a quarantine, Ayame is being held somewhere else, and we'd be just wasting time checking. Either situation is possible. Should we go to central or not? I'll let you decide, Jian, since you were the one tasked with finding her and she is your..uh..girlfriend."

Clarent shakes her head. "No, I'm good. Thank you though." She rights herself up and looks out the window. "It's night time?" she asks "Truth be told, I've slept so much I'm not really tired anymore."
She is interrupted by hitomi jumping on the bed and scoots to make space for her.

Shortly after someone knocks against the window, despite it being on the second floor. Clarent jumps a little, not expecting it, and looks out the window. Nobody is there. She then jerks again as the window knocks anew and tries to get a closer look.

"Heeey" a girls voice says from the outside. "I need to talk to the Fairy!" the disembodied voice exclaims and knocks on the window again.

"Uh..." Sharpe starts.

"I never said I had a hunch. The quarantine is fact. It's worth a look-see if she's there or not, and even then we can find out what's going in central so we can avoid it if necessary." He says. He feels a bit irked that Jack would think this as a choice that has to be debated when there definitely is a sense of urgency.

Airgetlam sighs and wears a more worried look upon her face.

"What do we have to lose? It's not like we know anywhere else she could be. Jian's info is our only lead at this point, and it's better than nothing. Discussing this just makes time!" She says, looking at Jian, who she decides to follow and let him lead her off.

"If anything we really owe her one for helping us out. It would have been way harder, or even impossible without her help. It's only right we go help her now!"

He hears Jack calling her his girlfriend. He can't help but blush for a second... So it was rather obvious what he feels for her the whole time... But girlfriend? Not sure if they are that far yet, they haven't gotten to talking about that since she parted. And he can't even do so with her now being stuck somewhere else with guards having taking her hostage somewhere.

"W-well, whatever sounds the most reasonable and possible... I am trusting you on this part", he simply says, still trembling lightly. He just hopes that they'll figure it out and find her fast, so he can bring her back safely from yet another danger.

Dr. Atrium nods at Clarent.

"I'm not surprised you arn't tired. Lady Dahaka...the one who possessed you, said that you weren't dead, just sleeping. If you want to go out, I would be willing to-"

He gets cut off by the knocking. He turns to the window and sees nothing. He is shocked when he hears a voice ask to see Hitomi. He walks to the window and locks it before talking.

"Who are you first. I want to see you and know what you want with Hitomi before I decide to unlock the window and trust you."

Hmmm... I wouldv'e thought Sharpe would be more wary and pessimistic being a soldier and what not."

"I assumed that you assumed that the quarantine is a cover up for something else by the fact that your so eager to investigate it. Assuming that this quarantine is completely real and not the doings of a corrupt police force, then why would on the gods' green earth would the authorities be holding Ayame there. The only explanation I can think of is that she committed a crime so horrid that she was given death penalty to be carried out by infectious disease, but that is highly unlikely. I say that we should get in touch with the authorities. If they can't take any newly arrested prisoners to central, then they must have somewhere else to store prisoners. That ought to be where Ayame is."

"Ah- Right!" the disembodied voice of a girl says and moments later she appears before the window, hovering in place outside. Her tan skin making her difficult to see, but her white hair giving an easy contrast to her bright blue eyes. "Hitomi? I don't know who that is, but you. I need to talk to you!" she says and points at doc repeatedly. "I forgot to mention to your friends they will need you if they are to go to the central district. Lots of magic happening there, hmm, yes lots of bad terrible eeeeeevil magics." She sounds as if she were mocking her own words, but her attention is caught by a man yelling outside. "What are you doing up there? Thats dangerous!" a man yells. She looks to the side, a chain rattling and whipping across, giving the doctor a short glimpse at what he thinks to be a soul trap. "Oh-" She says and looks back at the room. "Looks like I got to go!"
Moments later she dissapears and is gone from sight.

Sharpe looks behind himself and turns around, walking backwards without error at a steady pace, hands in his coat pockets.

"Look, I don't rule out things, but honestly we don't got much info to say otherwise. We have a lead, let's follow it, see where this trail of crumbs ends. Also keep in mind, quarantine doesn't necessarily mean plague. I can be any manner of commotion where the state with sovereign authority and legitimacy over the territory has to declare martial law and prevent access and passage through the zone. Let's just see what's there first, and if it looks like there's a way in, we'll take it. Though I must ask, why do you seem to be so resistant to us going to Central?"

He turns around back to a forward-walk, awaiting Jack's retort.

Airgetlam sighs, are they really squabbling over this? We're talking about Ayame here.

"I'm sorry there's such a division over this." She says to Jian, in a rather low tone.

"Sam, is it just not convenient for you to help us out with this? Or do you just not want to deal with the authorities? Couldn't you just cook up some tech to help us out in situations? You're a tinkerer afterall." She says to him.

Jian suddenly loses his patience and his temper aswell, slamming his hand onto a table nearby, scaring the people close to it.

"Enough of this random babbling! For christ's sake, By the times you all are finished discussing this, she might already be stuck in even more trouble. Central it is, final desicion! The girl said it's the central part where she's in. I don't know the girl personally, but she seems to know us, so I will just go with her words. Now stop fiddling around with this and let's get ready to just go there, before even more time is gone to waste with useless speculations about stuff. And if you all wish to just continue, I'll go there alone, I am getting sick of people not being able up to make up thier minds!"

He breathes a bit heavier, having talked up a storm in this case. He slowly lifts the hand, bowing to the stand owner, whose table it is where he had his hand smash onto. He's also feels sorry for them having to witness his outburst, but time's running out, regardless of them planning or not. He rests his hands on his face with a long sigh.

Dr. Atrium listens to the girl and nods. He was going to ask this mystery lady a question but she leaves before he can. He then walks over to his bag, then walks over to Clarent. He hands her the knife he took from her.

"looks like the people who helped me saved you are in need of me. If you are able and willing, I would like your help."

He walks over to Hitomi. He remember that he was able to talk to her. Maybe if he focuses he can talk to her again. He focus on his words and tells her, 'I am leaving. It will be danger where I am going. Stay here and be safe. Attack anyone who you don't know.' but all that he manages to say in her tongue is "I...leaving...Danger where...going...Stay...Attack...who you don't know.

He looks at Clarent.

"I hope she understands what I told her...Any ways, we need to get going. I know you don't really trust me, but this is the best way to show you that I am a good man. We could also use the extra hand."

" 'cook up some tech' she ask?! Oh sure, I'll just 'cook up' a quantum teleportation device, use it to gather all my buddies from the undead phoenix projects, and we can all 'cook up' a device to track Ayame...wait...not 'cook up', but reprogram...no that's a bloody stupid idea, the kind a mentally challenged child would think of....eh, why the hell not?"

"Sharpe, Jian, Air, do any of you still have the beeping box thing Jian found in the castle. the radar. It's quite a long shot, but I might be able to reprogram it to track Ayame."

"T-this shouldn't be too hard. I've had vision after vision of people working with 'computer' devices far more sophisticated than this. It's almost as if studying 'computers' myself. Yeah."

Clarent takes her blade, curiously staring at the doctor. Meanwhile in her mind, she works out the different scenarios. The man has friends, so there are more. She can't yet leave the city, so if they are after her she will have no where to go, but if they turn out to be the good guys then there should be no problem with her presence. Worst case scenario she can just wing it and see how it ends up and go from there.

"Alright..." she says and waits untill the doc has looked away before sheathing her weapon. For one to test how comforterable he is with turning while she has a blade, and for another to keep it hidden well out of sight. "I'll help, if I can be of any use. Just lead the way and we'll see what happens."


Moments later Doc and Clarent find the group at the markets, moving towards the closest bridge to central. They join the group and doc greets them while Clarent stays a whiles behind him, with her hands in her hoodie.

FP Chatlog:

Sharpe looks over at Jian, who is beside himself over Ayame it seems. He sighs and reaches into his pocket, bringing out the radar they found and he gives it to Jack without saying anything. He continues walking but observes Doc gaining on them a bit. He puts up a hand with a welcoming smile, and takes interest in someone trailing a bit behind him.

"Well, rise and shine, look who got out of bed, albeit late." he projects across the group.

He pulls Airgetlam back a bit.

"Don't go huggin' yet, she needs some time to adjust."

Airgetlam keeps her distance by retains a friendly smile. No hugs, sure, but she can still be friendly. She just hopes it won't get awkward. She begins to hang back, wondering if Clarent will recognize her. She doesn't say anything though, one at a time is enough.

Jian turns around, watching the Doc and Clarent arrive. He sighs lightly seeing her in a better state than before. He doubts that she'll recall much, so he doesn't really think about bothering her about any events back when he helped her out with fruit... Or well the castle incident, as she might aswell not even remember that. He faces Sharpe, in hope that he'll say something regarding the case of them finding out where Ayame's held at. He's biting his lips lightly, his teeth grinding along them a little.
He has turned very thirsty in the many hours, so he goes to empty the rest of the water he had left in the bottle. His fingers slide into the pouch with the few herbs that are in there, as he grabs some, rubbing them into his mouth, which he hasn't done in a while.

Dr. Atrium walks up to the group and waves.

"Hello everyone. As you can see, our girl here is up and about."

He turns to Clarent.

"Allow me to introduce you to everyone. The man in the coat with the sword, that is Sharp. The pretty lady next to him is Airgetlam. And lastly the younger man is name Jian."

He turns back to the others.

"So I have been told we are going to the central district, bad stuff there. May I ask why we are going?"

He looks at Jian and sees how worried he is, then sees that Air is just as worried.

"Something bad has happened hasn't it?"

"didn't mention my name. Guess he's giving me the cold shoulder

"Ah yes, your that missing girl everyone here was tasked with finding. I'm just going to assume your no longer possessed by that vampire-demon...uh...thing by your lack of blood lust. Anyways, my name is Sam Jackson just your average clockmaker. So yes, you were possessed. I'm justgoing to assume, once again, that you don't remember that. The lady who was possessing your body seemed like a nice person other than killing people left and right. She had this massive castle, quite ominous, and lots of servant of which we freed, and now one of them is missing. Now, please excuse myself, but I'm in the middle of something here."

Jack tinkered with the radar until he found a "find person" option

"hmmm..."
[DNA sample required]
"Let's see here. DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, obviously asking for Ayame's. Let's see here. Deoxyribonucleic acid comes from flesh, blood, anything from the body other than waste. Jian would not have any of Ayame's with him. Unless their relationship was more sadistic than I thou..nope...I'm going to erase that image from my head."

"Well since everyone is so enthusiastic about central, I guess thats where we're going. Onwards."

"Hmm. Hello." Clarent says as the group makes their way to the central district. The further they get the less people are around, likely because of the supposed quarantine. Clarent simply tags along and listens to the odd stories this Jackson fella tells her while analyzing the rest of the group. They don't look like a group of people who have been traveling together a lot, and they all seem to be cut from very different cloth. The oddball of the group will have to be that Jian person, who looks strikingly familiar. A feeling she figures will pass with time if no memories of him show up. The man, unlike the others, feels like a normal person instead of someone who has been adventuring for a while. She shakes the thought and focuses on what lies ahead.

Moments later they arrive at the bridge where the guard has built some barricades and the night shift is holding watch. They approach the people at the booth, one of which the group recognizes to be the officer from when they entered the city with the survivors. "You again." he says with a tired expression on his face. Clearly the man hasn't gotten a good bit of shut-eye in a while. "What do you want?" he asks in a rough tone.

As Sharpe walks along, he decides maybe some small talk with the newest member of their tea party of not-really-debauchery would help pass the time.

"So," he starts, "What do you remember before your sleep? Family? Friends? Maybe you're still muddled..."

As they come up on a checkpoint, Sharpe steps forward a bit.

"Hello again, Sir. We were wondering what this quarantine business was about, as well we believe one of our friends has is being wrongfully detained against her freewill. We ask if we may be permitted entry for a period of time, perhaps."

Airgetlam waves as she is introduced, but she doesn't seem to be recognized.

Moments later at the checkpoint, she just lets everyone else do the talking. She looks down at the camouflage box, and then about for alternate routes into Central. They'd need a fairly inconspicuous but not too small opening, unless she has to go in alone again.

Jian pushes Sharpe away, approaching the Guard.

"Don't mind the man right there, we all are quite tired. I know that the quartine is none of our business, neither is what tends to be happening in the town. Our main concern still is, like he said, the girl that you seemed to have taken into custody. We brought her back from where many civillians were taking as hostages for scientific tests and purposes, which clearly were far from what you can call "freedom", in the common and legal aspect."

Jian leans in close to the man, handing him a gold coin, folding his hand.

"Now, this matter has incredible importance to me, and I am usually not the one to bribe either. See, the girl you're holding in custody, maid outfit, name's Ayame. Well, I grew close to her recently, rough cirumstances increase the chance of finding the right bond. I hope that makes sense so far."

Jian sighs once.

"A-anyway. Can you maybe tell me what the reasoning is behind imprisoning her? Maybe even let us know where she's located at... It would do me more than just a favor, it technically would flip everything for the good."

His eyes are rather determined about this, and he hopes for the Guard to understand his situation, so he has no other choice rather than hoping for sympathy in that aspect.

Dr. Atrium walks behind Jian and has his hands in his pockets. What the guard nor the other can see is that they are glowing. Bribing a guard is very risky, there is a chance one could take the bribe and help but there i greater chance of the bribe pissing the guard off and wanting to arrest the briber and the group. If the guard decides to get violent, he has his shadow claws ready to grab him quickly so he can't harm Jian.
