Davros watches the doctor flee, the expression on the merchants face guilty of confusion and surprise. He moves around the stand, squeezing between his and anothers and pokes the bolt. "Did it malfunction? That is quite odd..." he says after he makes sure the bolt wont hurt him. He then picks it up and holds it up, trying to see if anything is wrong with it. He puts it on his desk and looks at his assistant who is equally baffled. "Umm..." he continues and puts that one particular bolt into a special pouch. "Don't worry, these are usually safe. They are special bolts meant for hunting the undead." he pauses and carefully pulls out another one, showing a mild sense of relief to see the bolts are fine and not somehow harmful.
"They are quite difficult to make, but when shot through a crossbow will tear through the undead, burning them from the inside up in most cases, unless of course you're fighting a very high ranked necromancer. Greater dead usually only get stunned by these things, unless you hit them directly in the head, or whatever else their weak point at the time may be." He slides the bolt into the quiver again and puts the whole thing down on the table. "Unfortunately we don't carry what you are asking for. Those are quite difficult to get in this region, but I could place a special order for you if you'd like. It would take a week or two to arrive." He then fiddles around with something under his table and pulls up a book he had resting on a stool.
"As for upgrades, we have various designs here." he says and flips through the pages. "Like this for instance," he points at an image on one of the pages. The design looks both simple and somehow complicated at the same time. The image is a normal crossbow, with some sort of tube or half circled rod on top of the runway of the bolt and a dial of sorts. "You know those special bolts you're asking for? With this here you won't ever need to even buy them. See, this is a new weave that has been developed up in global. It uses specialized bolts that are a bit more expensive than regular bolts but are imbued with protraction. The attachment itself has a way of altering what effect the bolts will have upon impact. If you need to set fire to your target, you can simply tell the device to do so by turning this on the side. And if you need to freeze a target or object solid, you can just change the setting, and the bolt will react to it. Unfortunately you will still have to buy those incredibly rare caustic bolts at a custom fit shop but they will still fit into the crossbow, as well as any other normal bolt."
He lets her look at the design for a bit and then eventually flips the pages a few times until he gets to what looks like half a cog in the side of the crossbow, leading from a cartridge to the top. "So, you didn't like the burst fire- Thats fine- But look at this design. You know how you had to load in your bolts manually? With this mechanism you can auto-load them into your crossbow. The device will take out the lowest bolt in the clip and bring it up to the top in record speed, loading it in as you pull back the lever. It's the most updated version and faster than any older outdated models. And if you need to change types, you can simply press it in to the side, here, and the clip will slide out, to be replaced with a new or different set." he smiles, proud of both of those designs. And then leaves the book up on the desk. By this point him and his assistant have already long forgotten about the strange man who burned himself on the holy bolt.
The wind is blowing somewhere.
It's cold- no... It's warm. Unbareably warm.
This is different somehow.
Off in the distance there is a faunt muffled speech. A man seemingly raging, his slurred words forming stands of light that jet around the darkness.
No, it really is cold. It's hard to tell.
Suddenly there is a noise. Far off in the distance, the sound of falling. And there it is again.
Now the sound of the wind becomes stronger, blowing strongly through the vast nothingness. The sound graduately becomes louder, like the rushing of water.
A mighty waterfall is crashing down off in the distance, somehow its tides so loud and powerful they reach all the way here, but in a flash the current alters and sidesteps a lone girl sitting on a small island with only shadodws keeping her company. The waters rush around the island, splashing about and sending sprays of lukewarm droplets towards the girl.
She lays down onto the sand and smiles as the sand turns to silk, oddly not affected by the water which now is not even present anymore.
It's not really cold. It is however wet.
Thud... thud... thud...
Something is making noises again.
The noise is terrible, it wont stop.
Clarent sighs in her deep sleep as the noises of both Dr. Atrium and Jack collapsing on one another runs through the house. She turns on her side, having broken out in a sweat. She opens her eyes for a brief moment. Blinking tiredly. Feeling the pure exhaustment filling her body. She sighs again and one of her arms slides out from under her sheets, dangling off the side of the bed as she falls asleep again.
