Glayp'neir (Arc 1)

She gets up and looks out toward the calm forest, alive itself with chirps and hoots and an occasional howl. She tries to peer through it, but there is no sign of an encampment nor a castle. It definitely will be deep inside and well-hidden. She sits back down, running a hand through her hair.

"Sounds good to me. I am going to get packing so we can head out soon." Dr. Atrium says as he gets up and starts to head to the hut. He notices that the little girl fallowed back into the hut, which makes him smile. After a few minutes of packing, he is ready to leave. He looks at the little girl and frowns. The clothes that she is wearing quite old. He walks back out to the others. He sits back down and looks over at them. "Do any of you know how to make clothes or repair them? Our new little girl really needs it."

He says that while rubbing her back.

"I have worked with that kind of craftmanship before, but I am not that good at it. I could make something basic if given the materials, but it won't last longer than a few weeks before it gets worn out. Basically, I could fix her up temporarily with making something that doesn't look ragged and ripped. It takes me longer than others too, so you might have to bear with me on that part."

Jian has worked with many materials and tried out many different types of crafting things. Clothing being one of them. He hasn't really bothered working much on that area since he came here, so he only knows the basics. Cooking always was the thing he has the most interest in as it's something one has to go through on a daily basis. Then there's working with wood, which he tries to improve daily. Other areas concern forging jewelery out of ores, but that took too long to actually make him work on it much. Then there was brewing, which was something he wanted to continue, eastern drinks might be a good impact in this area.

Having offered to make clothes for the girl he finishes up his meat and rubs his hands, then pulling out his knife to work on a charm he hasn't finished yet.

Sharpe grunts.

"The only thing I know how to stitch up is people. I think Jian is the best of all of us with that. Don't know if Air can do it, don't want to sound sexist either."

He gets up and simply dusts himself off and hoists his backpack of belongings, which to say isn't not a very large pack anyway.

"It's fine. I honestly don't know much, my mentor never really taught me any of that ever. I just know very rudimentary stuff, probably not even. After this, we could I guess find a tailor back in town or stop by a shop to find clothes."

As she gets up, something enters her mind, confusing to say the least.

"I thought we were just going to go scope out the castle, not find it and make camp? I would think it not be safe to go camp right outside the place, you never know if there might be sentries or something!"

Dr. Atrium thinks about what Jian said. "I don't have any extra materials, so I guess we will have to wait." He looks over at the girl. "I am sorry hun, we will get you some new clothes the moment we get to town."

He stands back up, puts his bag over his shoulder and calls the cat to him. "You have a point there Air, I vote we get a move on. I don't want to find the castles sentries. I say we find the highest point that we can. that way we can find the castle faster then if we just wounder. We also can make a plan from up there too."

Jian nods to the statement of the Doc.
"Seems like the best thing to move on now, we all ate and woke up fully now and a plan seems settled also."

He gets up brushing the dust off of himself then walking into the wooden hut to get his backpack which he left in there over night. He then also puts the blade back into it's holder and checks if it's not loose.

"I am ready when you guys are, same way as before. I'll simply tag along whereever you decide to go."

Sharpe grins a little and proceeds to start walking in the direction of the woods with his right hand in his pants pocket and the other on the hilt of his sword.

"I'll take point." he says, and makes good on that statement.

A non-existent sweat drop forms next to her face.

"Uh... I never said we should find a higher place.. I was just going hide in the bushes I guess... But now that you pitched it I guess we'll go with that then. That and I guess it's a better vantage point anyway."

She keeps walking along, crossbow drawn, keeping up the rear, or at least the right flank. Then something dawns on her that would be of concern.

"Hey uh... when we launch the raid, what'll we do with the girl? I would think it'd be unsafe to take a little girl with us, don't want her turning into paint for the walls... "

Dr. Atrium thinks about what Airgetlam said, she has a good point. As they make their way up an the closes hill, he holds on the the girls hand. He looks behind every now and again to see if Mitsuki is fallowing them and smiles every time he sees her there. After about an hour of traveling he stops and looks at the little girl. He kneels down so that he is eye to eye with her.

"Hun, we need to talk. You dont have to say anything to me, just nod yes or no. First of all, do you have any family? Secondly, do you know how to fight? And lastly, do you know any magic?"

The group travels for a while and then comes to a stop. As the doctor asks the girl she simply tilts her head in curiosity, her irises twitching faintly. She frowns a bit, clearly displaying her uncertainty, then begins to look around in boredom, unable to understand the doc at the current moment.

For a brief moment, Airgetlam feels a tug that nearly throws her balance off. Her agility and reaction time prevent her from making a fool out of herself and she merely steps to the side a little, unnoticed by the others. Another small tug and as she looks around there is nothing near her. The girl also turns around, looking further up the path and tensing up as if provoked. She looks over to airgetlam, eyeing her down, and then back up the path and continues walking up the path.

As the group moves further and further they come to a stone formation. A very old and broken down pillar stands overgrown by a tree. Some rocks and bricks are scattered around the area and between the tree and a bigger rock stands a stone arc surrounded by grass and trees. The ground infront of the arch is very wet, though directly on the halfway point of the little stone arc is a very dry patch of land. Judging by the looks this was the ruin of a small sort of courtyard. It is now overgrown and no sort of structure stands beside or behind it. Though an extremely faint magical presence can be felt when approaching the place.

Sharpe looks around, feeling a sort of faint wisp or presence, but nothing too much, just probably his sixth sense heightening. He looks about but is careful regarding where he steps. The wet earth seems like the spot to put a trap or something, maybe even something to do with Protraction. Sadly, he knows nothing about Protraction, so he can't really say what's there. He eyes the little girl, wary of something she might try, or if something will come out at her.

Airgetlam feels it too, but more potently. There must be spirits there, be it that of the deceased or that of memories. In any case, she follows what Sharpe does and as she spreads out she's careful not to step in the more moist parts of the ground.

Could those energies that she's feeling be the same as the one that moved past her? Perhaps, perhaps not.

She looks at the girl and gets a bright idea.

"Doc, maybe instead of common tongue, we should try a different language? I'll try saying what you said to her in a language I know, probably won't work, but it's worth a shot, you never know."

She kneels in front of the girl and looks her in the eyes.

"Trí cheist, a rá yes nó aon." She thinks for a sec, it's been a while since she spoke that language.

"An bhfuil clann agat?" She holds up a finger, then again for the next two, "An bhfuil a fhios agat conas a throid? An bhfuil a fhios agat draíochta?"

She watches the little girl and waits. She shifts her mouth to one side of her face and looks at Jian.

"If you want to try your hand at it, be my guest."

The moment they enter the area, Dr. Atrium starts shaking. Spirits have their own form of magic that they can use. He learned that their magic effects lunar magic users do to lunar magic being tied to shadows and the dead. The feeling he has is making him very uncomfortable and he finds that his mind is racing all over the place.

"W-we need to get out of here. We defiantly don't want to be here when the night rolls around." His voice is shake and filled with anxiousness. As he looks around, he can see that there is something among them but he can't tell what it is. Every time he sees what ever it is, it is just a fleeting moment of it passing by. He grits his teeth and is glaring about. The last time he encountered a spirit, it wasn't happy to see him. His hands start to glow dark red and he has then in fists.

"Be on your guard everyone...We are not alone..."

Jian just tilts his head as Air is talking to the girl then offering him to help.

"I am not eligible of speaking that language. I am from the eastern countries, so it's quite different. I have no idea which language you're speaking..."

He has no idea about these spirits either, it's not really something he read about. He just knows that they are capable of things that many others aren't capable of doing. Regardless of that, he feels like carrying on is a good thing. It all seems a bit chaotic though, an uneasy mood lies in the air.

The calm and comfortable atmosphere the group woke up with is quickly overthrown with tense feelings. The group feels itself drawn towards the little open ruin. Mitsuki and the little girl approach the arc together, leaving the group rooted in curiosity and confusion. The girl gently touches the cold stone ruin and smiles. She walks through the arc, looking around in awe and then turns to her left and continues walking. As she and the cat move past the pillar of the arc, they suddenly dissapear. Eventhough on both sides of the pillar the ruins of of the little courtyard can be seen, the girl and mitsuki have dissapeared, leaving the group shocked.

Sharpe crosses his arms and widens his eyes.

"Well... That happened."

Despite the tense atmosphere, he stays calm and does not draw his sword and steps forward, reaching out to touch the seeming gateway. Perhaps it is only an optical illusion.

Bewildered, Airgetlam gazes forth upon the arch, and the two who just passed through it.

"Was it really what I said? Is she showing me the answers to those questions?"

She notices Sharpe getting curious about it and calls out to him.

"Wait! You don't know if something'll come out of there!"

Dr. Atrium gasps when the two disappear. Where did they go? He grinds his teeth. If the girl and his cat both trust it enough to go in, then so does he. He has both his hands glowing the dark red aura, a powerful spell at the ready as he charges in at full speed.

Jian is extremely confused with the given situation, they just vanished, crazy! Should he stop through like the girl and the cat? Will the others walk through aswell? He kind of is at a loss of words. He decides to stand back and await further actions from the group.

Doctor Atrium rushes through the gateway. As he passes through the scenery from his perspective drastically changes. The ruined and overgrown courtyard presents itself as a beautiful garden with exotic flowers and grasses. The whole place is surrounded by a strong standing, well taken care of, stone structure, with small roofs overhead ending in an opening in the middle of the courtyard. In the middle of it all is a square fountain with the statue of an angel pouring water from her outstretched hands. The water from the fountain is drained down into a mechanism making it flow into four different directions beneath grates in the floor. The doctor can be seen briefly from the other side, stopping in complete surprise and awe as he looks around. The sky is nonexistent, replaced with nothing but black. A giant castle can be seen through the opening in the roofs surrounding the courtyard garden. The massive structure seems to be inlaid into the mountain range with three massive towers emitting from it, two on the left side and one on the right. On the right a big silver tube is spiraling down the sides of the tower and into a sort of mechanism on one of the many roofs of the castle and a stairway, leading from the towers on the left, is suspended in the air leading further up and into a silver structure in the mountain. Atrium refocuses and runs off after the girl and the cat, also disappearing behind the ruined archway.

"Doc Wait!" Sharpe calls out, just before he touches the air in the archway.

"Shit!" he exclaims. he looks behind him to Jian and Airgetlam.

"I'm going in, stay here and I'll get him out!"

Sharpe backs up a bit and then sprints, jumping. His entire view changes to that of the... whatever it is... a void between worlds perhaps? The impressive garden, the masterfully-crafted statue... and the walls and features of a castle all throughout. Could this be the castle they were looking for?

"Doc! You can't just keep going like that! We need to find the girl we originally went out to look for! What if this isn't what we're looking for?"

He cusses again under his breath and looks about his surroundings again. Unnerving.

"Go get those two, but I'd rather we not spend much time here! I left Air and Jian on the other side!"

Airgetlam watches in disbelief at the whole thing, but she doesn't let that get to her.

She preps her crossbow and keeps a thought on her short blade.

"We shouldn't go through unless a time has passed and we start panicking."

She gets a bit closer to Jian and keeps watch on the limits of her line of sight. If anything comes out, they should be prepared.

"You might want to arm yourself. Your charm... it might do some good too."

The moment he ran through the archway, the glow on his hand almost goes out. Where ever he is, it is dampening his connection to the moon. He looks around a bit, once he gets his barings again, he charges off to look for the girl and his cat. As he is running, he faintly hears Sharpe yelling at him from behind. He doesn't turn around though, Sharpe can defend himself, Air can defend herself and Jian has Air to protect him. Mitsuki is just a house cat so she can easily be harmed and the little girl maybe able to transform or something but it is clear she doesn't know how to fight with her ability. He runs for a bit until he comes across two houses, one on his left and right. Both houses have their doors open which means the two could be in one or the other or even one in each house. Not knowing what else to do, he walks into the house on his right.

Jian looks at the gateway and at the two disappearing. Air steps closer to him to offer protection, but something bothers him. He keeps looking at it and Doc and Sharpe then disappeared into it too as he's doing so. He's curious. What lies behind there? Air keeps looking around to make sure the two are safe and Jian then decides to take the spur of the moment to run towards the gate. As he runs towards his, he feels kind of like a badass, then jumping through it with an diving motion. His vision fades for a short while and then is coming back to him with a new area surrounding him. He rolls over his shoulder and keeps kneeling as he looks around.

"Whoa, I can't believe I pulled this off!", he says as he dusts himself off feeling amazing. "Well then, where did the two go? I will have to find out!"
