Glayp'neir (Arc 1)

Hitomi lets out the closest thing to a giggle a fairy can manage as Atrium charges through the halls. His speed is so great that instead of descending the stairs he skips the turn accidently and bursts right through the wall, landing in the main hallway and directly infront of Jian and Ayame. The latter of which screams out in sudden surprise. Atrium doesn't notice them and charges down the hallway towards the main hall, towards possible freedom.


The survivors have a hard time being under control with what is happening. Even despite Airgetlams words they run about in place, some of them charging down the hallways trying to find the way out. A very few jump off the the open parts of the castle trying to get outside but find themselves without any ground below. The maids are also rushing around, managing to calm one rooms worth while the other 4 remaining rooms are in panic. A rather elderly looking man tries to escape one of the rooms and pushes a young girl aside. She yelps in terror as she stumbles and falls out of the castle, only barely managing to hold on to the edge of what remains of the guest wing. Nobody comes to help her, as everyone is stuck in their own terror. The castle then shakes again, even more violently than last time, causing everyone in the guest wing to lose their footing. The girl falls, grabbing at another man, trying to climb to safety and tears him down with her as they both yell terrified screams of fear. Part of the walls begin to crumble, as the roof in the hallway collapses partway, raining down chunks of roof onto the surprisingly empty floor below, though some of them crash through the ground, creating holes that lead to only mist. Almost the entirety of the guest wing is now under open skies, or rather open mist, and the destruction is quite breathtaking. Most of the castle has already collapsed into the mist, its walls almost entirely gone and most of the surrounding buildings including the people inside lost. Even what once was the dining hall seems to now be missing, as well as the basements below.

Samantha rushes into one of the rooms, seeing the people in panic and bangs her sword against a nearby pot several times. The noise catches the attention of the room and most of the survivors become rather still as she points her sword to the door, gesturing for them to leave instead of panic like chicken. Two of the rooms begin to empty out as the people therein are being led out by Samantha and the two maids. As Sam passes Jack, she nods at him, and points her dagger at the remaining three rooms. He and Airgetlam are the only ones left and three of the rooms are still occupied with people panicking.

FP Chatlog:

"You can't be too careful with creatures of this caliber, they're liable to- WHAT THE FETH?!?!!"" He exclaims as he is cut off by being scooped up underneath the creature's arm. He feels he can't grip his sword or reach for his gun at all, so so far he's only left to ride along with the beast.

"HEY, HEY! WATCH THE COAT!" He shouts at it. He looks up ahead and sees an wall incoming and braces for the impact but doesn't feel anything except a little force, as the beast is doing the work. Jian and Ayame are found in the next section, but he has only a few moments to say anything.

"Hey, nice weather we're having, gotta go, not really my choice but I'm kinda stuck. Go help Air and Jack; kay thanks, bye." he says in a somewhat comical, rapid-fire fashion.

He looks back up.

"Keep in mind, there's more than just the three of us! I know I said I'd keep you busy, but this is not what I had in fething mind!" Can it understand him? He doesn't know. Honestly at this point, he might as well just give up on saying anything to the beast.

Airgetlam says nothing, her mouth agape and eyes wide.

"W-well... at least we know it's not exactly going to kill us or anything..."

She walks to one of the rooms and witnesses the survivors panicking like chickens without heads, like little children running about making a mess. It would be like herding cats.

She slams her silver arm into the wall, making an audible cracking sound.

"Hey! Stop already! Do you want to live or die? I'd think live, but losing your minds isn't going to make that happen! If you want to live, come join the group and we'll head out!" She stands there waiting until some decide to take her up on her offer.

"Good. Stay put while i get the other room. Jack will get that other one." She says.

She slams her fist again into the wall and repeats what she said, but with more enthusiasm. Once she has both of her rooms under her jurisdiction, she heads to the front of the large group, hands on her hips, waiting for Jack.

"Jack, if you need to get their attention, fire a shot in the air. It's a helluva lot louder than what I have!" she yells to him.

As Atrium is charging through the castles doors, he finally finds what he was looking for. Standing in front of the door leaving the castle, he puts Sharpe and Hitomi down. He looks up at the large wooden doors and growls. He then leaps at them and tackles them over and over again until they give way and open up. He pushes the doors and looks outside at the courtyard. He gets up on two legs and walks outside, memories of him entering this way floods his mind. He puts one of his claws to his head and shakes it a little. He looks out and sees the two houses. He looks down and sees Hitomi holding on to his claw and he smiles. He turns back to look at the man he carried gestures him to fallow. He walks though the courtyard and looks at all the destruction that is happening. They soon walk up to two large metal doors that are shut. The giant doors don't have any handles for anyone to grab. Atrium tackles the doors a few times but nothing happens. He then look at Hitomi remembering that he found her outside of this place.

"How did Hitomi leave? Doors no open..."

He looks at the man and hopes that he can understand that he can't get the doors open.

Jian sees the doc charging down towards him, hoping for the worst. He then sees Sharpe and Hitomi on his back though, running past instead. He simply sighs in relief and then hears what Sharpe yells while running past...

"Gah... What an idiot... He needs to take a look around, people's lives are at stake, the place is going down... And all he has to say is something that sounds like it is from a comedy sketch. I... really can't understand that man, I just can't. Well... seems like we'll have to carry on down the path from where the beast came from... this is all just way too crazy."

He sighs once more, closing his eyes in a bit of a disbelief, then walking ahead, throwing a smile back to Ayame to keep the current situation in good shape. More demotivation or fear would just work against everything, so keeping a positive attitude will make life easier.

"I can't wait to leave, knowing that I brought more people out than I went in with... Even better, I didn't just bring them out... I got to take part in saving them with everyone I came here with. Sure... I am not in too good terms with some, but they still helped and brought things forward. I give 'em that."

He looks down a clarent thereafter: "Most importantly, we saved the person we came here for aswell, so we never lost the goal that we had in sight"

"Air, I could've sworn I hear Ayame down the hall, it would probably be best that you check if she's ok."

"Well one can only assume those behind this will definitely be in a panic state leaving them in capable of basic thought. Perhaps I'll shock them out of it with a dramatic entrance"

The crippled angel broke through the door as if it were made of rice paper at let out an ear piercing cry. The idea that an angel would make such a horrid demonic sound brought great juxtaposition that was only amplified by Jack's clear, calm, and proper demeanor after his entrance.

"Now that I have your attention, if you wish to live, please leave, single file, calm and orderly manner following others to the nearest exit."

Hitomi walks up to the door and touches it, running her hand along its cold metal.
"She open it for him. And when he come back, it open again." she says and sits down on the ground, oblivious to the danger around them.



The remaining survivors fall into maddening panic as Jack bursts through the door. They Scream in terror and push past him, nearly pushing him out of the castle as they run out into the hall, terrified.
A short bit down the hall, one of the Survivors Airgetlam was managing stops and reaches for someone elses shoulder. "What was that noise?!" he asks nervously and the group turns to look behind themselves. "Wait. Why are we... What if these people aren't actually here to rescue us?" The other man says. The sudden realization stirs paranoia and hysteria in the group of survivors as more of them begin to shout out their mind.

"That woman with the strange arm! She was threatening us earlier!"

"They'll try to silence us so that word of this can't get out!"

"No! I have a family! I can't die here!"

"Everybody Run! Run for your lives! Don't look back- just run!"

Half the survivors are out of control, making a mad dash forward. Some of them push past or through the group of calmed survivors, pushing some aside and trampling others, and even throwing punches here and there. The turmoil quickly gets further out of hand as all the survivors are now panicked and trying to run off in whatever direction seems safest.

FP Chatlog:

Sharpe pats himself down and checks that all his gear is still equipped.

"Well, you kept my coat fine, so that's a plus..." He says and trails off as he looks up at the gate.

He crosses his arms and scratches his chin. He looks over at the creature and Hitomi, having no idea what they could possibly be saying to each other, besides ideas on how to open the gate. He kicks a pebble. He knows no way at all to get the gate open. Hitomi and Dahaka are the only ones with any idea how this could work, and he rather doubts that Hitomi knows too much about it. He checks his pockets for anything, anything at all that might be useful. He checks his belt and stops as his hand comes to rest on a tube. He pulls the tube out of his belt and looks at it, and his eyes go wide with realization. A large grin forms and he looks at the other two.

"I just remembered I swiped this a while back when i left the military. It's a tube-charge, an explosive that we used for demolitions. It's powerful enough that if placed at the most optimal point in a building's infrastructure, it'll bring the whole place down. That's only at the absolute weakest point, and not a common circumstance, but it would do considering all we'd be doing is blowing up a gate."

He looks about the tube-charge and tries to find what might be the fuse, but none exists. He prods around the spot on his belt where he found it and pulls out a clicker of sorts. He raises an eyebrow and thinks back to his military days, and recalls that they showed him once how the thing works. It was apparently a remote-detonation charge, activated from a safe distance. The clicker was used to activate the bomb, and you'd have as much time as you needed to get to a safe distance. Sharpe was never the guy for explosives, but they at least taught him how they worked.

He looks down at the tube and back to the gate. He refocuses his vision to the two of them.

"I think we should try it."

Airgetlam's face goes red as she realizes how bad she is at working a crowd.

She makes a sneer with her face and balls her fists.

If only Jian was here, he'd be able to keep these people fine. I'm terrible with people. All I can do is lone wolf.


She looks back at the whole the beast made and sees Jian and Ayame are safe down the way. 

"JIAN!" She shouts at him and waves him to come over.

"We need a friendly face here! I'm shit with people, so I'd really appreciate it if you kinda quelled this little riot!"

She starts to feel the people push against her, but she remains adamant in her standing.

"Hurry!" she yells back again.

The major panic is clearly something one can't miss, seeing everybody run around like that... "Well... Seems like it's not over yet... Ayame, hold her, seems like I have something to resolve."

He hands Clarent to Ayame, giving her a hug afterwards. He then turns around, letting his head fall back, sighing. He then rushes over to Air with a bit of a wobbly balance.

"What the hell were you doing... What the hell were ALL of you doing? Is it so hard to just talk to people, ask for thier needs and keep them together? Gah... For crying out loud..."

He just pushes Air out of the way, facing a group of people running, he tries to run next to them, even if his condition makes that hard to achieve.

"Hey.. Hey! Please hear me out, I beg you... You can decide which way... You want to go after listening to me... please!"
His words turn into more slurr as he runs, he is exhausted quick... He slows down a bit, just letting out another "Please" with the bit air he has left... He catches his breath slowing down

"LOOK AT ME, I AM BRUISED ALL OVER WITH CUTS, SCRATCHES AND OTHER SMALLER WOUNDS! I WOULDN'T OF TRIED TO GET YOU ALL OUT IF MY GOAL WAS TO KILL YOU OFF LATER! PLEASE, JUST LISTEN TO MEE!!!", he suddenly bursts, with a yell that came from the deepest part of the lungs that he could offer. He then falls on his knees and on his palms, panting heavily, having a few tears running down his eyes.

"J-just... have faith in me... for once", he then silently sobs to himself, in hope people would listen to him.

Atrium looks over at the man and sees him pull out some tube. He isn't sure what the man is saying but he seems to be happy about what ever he has in his hand. He grabs Hitomi again and puts her behind his head again. He grabs what ever the man is holding and looks at it. Not being able to understand Atrium gets angry and throws it as hard as he can at the metal doors.

Jack wanted to shout "why would we want to kill you, but he stopped himself when he realized that all they would hear is "we want to kill you". He retracted his wing taking on his human form.

"Look at them all. They're all going to kill each other before the castle even gets the chance. pathetic. It feels so wrong to think, but I feel liberated to know I'm not one of them. I know you told me not to question, but why...why fight for them? why couldn't Ragnarok just kill them all?"

"I shall answer your question by asking another. What about your friends?"

"T-t-they're an exception"

"I'm not sure why Ragnarok happened, but I like to imagine that it was punishment for humanities arrogance. To teach them a lesson, not kill them. To wish they were dead would be the same as wishing a child was dead. Hating them for being young and weak. The duty of an angel is to raise them so they can be courageous, kind, and honorable. so that these 'exceptions' may become the norm. To fight for humans because of what they are is a fool errand, I understand. But Jack, as you choose to call yourself, can you find an ounce of hope within your heart to fight for what they could become?"

"maybe..."

He hears Jian trying to get everyone's attention and marches in the the halls to witness the riot spread across it.

"Everyone. We've come to help you. If you choose not to trust me, I understand"

He puts his hand on Jian's shoulder

"but this man has clothed and fed you. He has kindness in his heart and no incentive to harm you. I ask of you, all of you, to put faith in this man. Put faith in him to lead you to salvation!!"

The survivors are caught up in their instincts, running about the place trying to push towards the entrance. As the two begin to yell and shout at them, most of them quiet down, staring at the sobbing man infront of them. They hear out Jack and begin to calm as the two's words are taken sincerily. Afterall, had they really want to kill the survivors, wouldn't they have just left them in the tubes? Or worse yet, killed them off after freeing them. Why feed them and give them a sense of comfort. More and more of the gone-wild survivors begin to slow their pace, a lot of them clumping up in groups again, staring at the floor in shame for their animal like actions. A young kid walks up to the sobbing man, Jian, and nudges him a little. The kid then rubs his arm and hands him a jacket. A jacket he recognizes to be his own that he gave away earlier. The kid is dressed in some rather basic clothing, found in one of the rooms, and smiles at him as it backs up into the crowd.

Having most of the survivors under control again they continue to make their way to the main hall, leading to the courtyard gardens.


Doc pulls his arm back, all of his rage and power put into a single throw as he lobs the explosive as hard as inhumanly possible. The tube soars through the air, darting with incredible speed and might ready to do its damage- and makes a muffled *plonk* sound as it hits the steel doors and bounces off into the grass. Hitomi runs over to it and picks it up, waving it around and running around the doc and the other man, and then gives her new play-thing a lob of her own as she throws it in Sharpes direction.

The castle grounds suddenly shake once more, yet again stronger than the last time. The surprised yells of the survivors echo around the area as most of the remaining castle collapses in on itself, falling into the void below. With an intense rush of heat, suddenly a massive flare of fire pierces the void and shoots into the misty clouds above, slowly beginning to suck the mist and parts of the castle into its forming, burning, core. Within seconds the survivors flee into the courtyard garden while bits and pieces of things and objects are being pulled into the flare.

FP Chatlog:

Sharpe looks at the door, eyes wide and hands twitching. He slowly looks over at the creature and Hitomi, and his face really starts to throb a bit.

"T-that was n-not c-cool." he manages in a sneer.

He picks up the bomb and looks around for denting, but surprisingly there's only a small scratch on the casing. They really built these things to last and take damage, but he's really hoping the mechanism didn't get jammed. It shouldn't have, considering it's on the top of the charge and a bit inward. He turns it over in his hands and finds the patch of plastique or clay or some other adhesive substance that allows the device to be placed on things and stay there.

He looks up at the two again.

"For starters, this isn't a grenade-" he says but turns to find the rest of the party and survivors have caught up to them, and the rest of the castle is now pretty much almost gone.

"Secondly, I think now's the time we used it. Everyone, I love how you were all able to get out here, albeit taking a bit longer than I expected. I'm going to ask you to take cover behind something, I'm going to get the gate open with an explosive! Trust me, I know what I'm doing! I used to be in the military!" he shouts and strides over to the gate, and places the tube-charge on the gate, at a point about where the two doors meet. He sticks it and makes sure the bomb is securely fastened, and runs back, pulling out the detonator and keeping it within his eyesight.

He runs back behind a wall.

"I'm going to count to three, at which point I'll say ease to mark that I'm pulling the trigger! Ready?!"

"One!"

His stomach churns, with a great insecurity that this might not work.

"Two!"

Again the churning, but he motions for everyone to cover their ears. He brings back his resolve and says the final number.

"Three!"

He covers his ears.

"EASE!" He yells and pulls the trigger on the detonator.

Airgetlam sighs and feels a slight ache in her heart.

"S-sorry, I may be friendly and nice but I'm not exactly the best with people..." she tapers off and keeps up with the group as they go into the courtyard. Sharpe is providing his instruction and she immediately finds a place to take shelter. She looks down to see two kids beside her, who despite being calmed are unsure of what Sharpe is going to do with his bomb.

"I need you guys to cover your ears for me, it's going to be really loud and you don't want to hurt your ears. Can you do that for me?" she asks of them and covers her ears as well. The Flare in the sky glows bright, taking the castle with it. A sad sight honestly, despite the loathing of the things that went on in that place, she had liked the design and outdoor layout and decoration in places.

She looks to Sharpe who is priming the detonation and nods to him. She carries the message forth to keep their ears covered to others who can see them.

The people calm down and Jian looks up to the kid which hands him the jacket. He smiles back at the kid as he goes back to the group, then wiping his tears and sighing. He takes the jacket, throwing it over his shoulder as he pushes himself back up, following the group carefully after going back to Ayame to take Clarent off of her hands.

"W-well... I didn't expect to have such and outburst... But I think it had impact", he then says to her with his still shaky voice. They then arrive in the courtyard with Air suddenly yelling back to close the ears. He is unable to cover his ears though, due to Clarent in his arms, so he has to prepare for the worst. He just looks a bit scared, then looking over to Ayame and back at the scene.

Atrium watches the man do something with that tube he threw. He backs away from the large doors. He hears people walking behind him and he turns to see a large group of people making their way to where he is. He growls a little and keeps Hitomi close to him.

"Who are these people?"

Hitomi smiles somewhat and grabs the doctors claw, leading him away from the door. "Don't know. Maybe food. We'll see." she says to him and skips around a piece of collapsed ruin.
Sharpe gives the final command and the survivors prepare, staring at the entrance in awe. They are ready for what will happen, knowing ahead of time that there will be an explosion. Each of them tense, waiting for the charge to go off. A moment passes, then another. A man who is close to Sharpe then puts a hand on his shoulder.

"U-um excuse me s-" he begins to say as the charge explodes. A huge crashing wave of sound echoes around the place as the fire and smoke billows out of the place the charge was at. The smoke soon engulfs a lot of the region overhead, casting gloomy shadows below. The startled but still under control group of survivors as well as their saviors stare at the smoke covered entrance, hearts stopping as they wait for the area to clear. Hoping...

The smoke begins to clear, dissipating into the misty voids all around the remainder of the castle- leaving a gaping hole in both the massive steel doors. A bunch of victory cries emerge from the group of survivors as they begin pushing to the steel doors, waiting there for their saviors. Behind the steel doors is a strange static wall with glitched images of a thick forest with a path leading past some ruins right outside the door. It seems to be daylight outside, but there are some rather thick clouds building above.

Just as the relief settles in, the flare of fire so easily pushed out of mind bursts into tendrils of fire, nearly slashing the floating islands that was once the courtyard gardens appart. The statue that was once in standing in midst of a beautiful garden has now been crushed to bits and the ground underneath left smoking as the tendril slides off and slips into the abyss below. Chunks of fiery debris begin falling from the sky and from the inside of the core of the flare, suddenly three giant burning snake heads emerge.

"DID you think you could SO EASILY ESCAPE ME?!" the three heads said at once as one of them elongated to an impossible length and snapped the doorframe of the old castle in half.
"I WILL devour all of YOU and your PUNY HUMAN CIVIlization!!" the demon cried out in agony as more tendrils rose from the flare, gripping pieces of the ground and smashing them into the abyss below. Some of the survivors returned the demon's cry as it grew massive flaming arms and hands. They turned tail and began to make their way through the gate, no matter what lay beyond. Anything was safer than staying here. The ground began to tremble, the final bit of the castle nearing its collapse as giant flaming arms and tendrils began their travel to impact on top of the survivors and the floating island below. The heat growing hotter and hotter as the creature neared the place. "DIE HuMans, DIE in the fires OF AZI DAhaKA"

FP Chatlog:

Sharpe looks up at the man who was trying to ask him something.

"Huh? What is it-" the detonation ripped through the air and cut him off. Beyond the door lay the portal, escape in their grasp.

He looks back to the nightmare horror of Dahaka, and raised his sword to the sky and yelled.

"Into the breach! Get through the portal as fast as you can! Don't look back, just run!" and moved to help get some survivors going. He looked back again, ignoring his own warning, and sprinted to the gate, but stood with his sword facing the demon.

He would not let these people die like animals, but this thing cannot be taught with normal weaponry.

Airgetlam feels an intense shiver down her spine and grits her teeth a bit. She stares up at the demon, feeling a genuine sense of fear.

"Uh... yeah, let's go, right about... NOW." She says and runs, keeping her eyes on the survivors in her vicinity. She takes out her crossbow, even though she knows it won't have any effect, but something's better than nothing. She stands in front of the gate for a moment, and looks at Sharpe.

"Don't you dare die on me." She says, and walks through the gate to make sure the other side is secure.

The explosion shoots through the courtyard with it's soundwave, turning Jian's ears deaf due to him not being able to shut his ears. The wave of people then starts running, him not being sure what exactly they just saw or heard. His steps echo through his body like deep thumps, all he can hear is bass-filled noises with no sharper or clearner sound behind it. Not too long later the sound fades back into normal, leaving a ringing in his ears and he then reaches the portal, turning aroudn before stepping through, seeing what caused the panicwave of all the people.

"Ayame, let's better not waste time!", he then shouts, directing her to go through first with him waiting for her to make it through. He then turns around to Sharpe.

"Stop trying to be a hero, get your sorry ass through the portal, for crying out loud!", he then yells, with a look as stern as it could be. "Get off your high horse, get your ass through, I refuse to take another step otherwise! Forget. Your. Pride!"

He stands still, with clarent in his arms, refusing to move without knowing sharpe will go through the portal.

Atrium looks up at the demon and roars loudly at it. He then grabs Hitomi and gently throws her through the opening. He looks around and sees the man with the sword getting ready to fight the demon, he then sees they younger looking boy standing next to him and not moving. This boy has no claws, weapons, or anything to fight. Why is he standing there? Atrium rushes over to the boy and throws him through opening as well. He then stands next to the man with the sword. He sees the man is scared. He then jumps up to the demon and starts clawing at its face as hard as he can.

"Jack, you must leave at once. Your not strong enough to face such a demon."

"No!!! You told me I need to teach the humans. What Kind of an example would I leave if I ran like a coward and abandoned my friends?"

"I guess I did tell you such..."

"You know you can't change my choice, so I have only one question. Before I lossed my memory, what was my name?"

"Shimara"

The voice diminished as Jack blocked it out to face the task at hand. His wing grew from his back, and he donned his semicircle halo as he prepared for battle. With all the blood loss, his skin was already pale white.

"AZI DAHAKA!!! MY NAME IS SHIMARA, VALIANT ARCHANGEL OF THE HEAVENS AND GUARDIAN OF HUMANITY! I HAVE PLEDGED TO LEAD HUMANS TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN THAT FUTURE!! WITH MY FRIENDS AT MY SIDE, PREPARE FOR THE EMBRACE OF DEATH"

The survivors flee in terror through the gate, Streaming to the other side one by one. Azi Dahaka is barely fazed by Dr. Atrium clawing away at one of its three burning, scaly faces. Its palms and flaming tendrils continue to crash down, making the place unbareably hot. One of the flaming tendrils pulls back and whips Dr. Atrium off Azi Dahaka, causing him to crash down near the portal.

"Leave!" a voice yells from the gate. "Leave now! Before the demon makes its escape, and kills you in the process!" The voice sounds faint and distant, as if it was calling out from a different realm.

The plead is answered by demonic laughter. "HahaHAhahaHAHAHA. YOU I shall Reclaim aswell AS THESE FOOLS!"
More tendrils arrive at the platform. Whipping bits and peaces away from it. Some wrapping itself around the gate itself, ready to tear it appart and trap the group in an inescapeable firey grave. The ground shakes and begins to make way, piece by piece falling into the void along with whatever rest of the castle was left floating above.
