Common Colour Schemes Empty Common Colour Schemes

    Post by ★Yuki~♪ Sat Jun 07, 2014 2:28 am

    Hello!

It's come to my attention that many of you have started to use colours for certain interactions such as thoughts or communications in various ways, for example; Foreign Languages, Speaking to specific species or specific people, or even having conversations within the characters mind. This is a concept that I myself have come to enjoy greatly and would like to officially implement in one way or another.
I'm also hoping that you guys would be interested in reaching a common understanding and usage of what each colour indicates, rather than each person have their own colour scheme. This way people will have an easy time relating to the various colour and vanity choices in text.

What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to write a reply to this post with your thoughts and suggestions and discuss this with the other members on the board. And if possible include ideas of what you would like to have coloured, and what colour you want to stand for each thing you can think of. (For example, Thoughts, Languages, Intimidation, Anger, Caution, Whispering, and so forth)

I also will be colour coding the Factual Posting Chatlog (FP Chatlog) in order to give a greater understanding on what is happening. Note that the colour choices in the FP Chatlog are entirely unrelated to your suggestions and what will ultimately be decided. And while you're at it, please check the poll above to verify your thoughts.

I do think it's helpful to be able to visually discern different types of interactions, this does in my opinion add more flavor to the actions of characters. Though, some people's writing styled might not typically include colors, and that could be fine, but for specific things such as those outlined, yes, colors would help.

I'd like to add my little note here, it would help newcomers figure out who's saying what and in what way. Caution could be yellow, anger red, whisper purple, and some of these colors go hand-in-hand with MMO colors for certain text chats, so people familiar with those will have an easier time adjusting.

This is the normally coloured text, with no added colour.

    #FF9933
This may suggest thoughts or non-spoken dialogue. In MMOs its usually for Emotes or Roleplay.

    #e7d900
This colour seems to be good to highlight talking to soul traps or perhaps hearing voices, may that be telepathy, sickness, or through devices.

    #FF0000
Definately the colour used to highlight anger in dialogue. It’s been a common thing so far, and should remain that way.

    #ec7ceb
This could be the whisper text, as is usual in MMOs. This would be important for example if a character is trying to be quiet.

    #019201
This colour has ben previously used to highlight Foreign Languages, such as from the East. Only certain charcters would be able to understand.

    #994c00
This highlight has ben also used previously, when communicating with Fairies, Perhaps a form of feral speech?

    #58c3eb
This colour may stand for Out of Character text. (Player Text) Given that it’s the colour I use for headings and its the Link Colour.

These are my examples. If you can think of anything else you feel needs to be colour coded or you don’t agree with the list feel free to post about it.
If not these will be the official colours in a while.
